What is an Apostille Certification and why is it so important in the Philippine Real Estate Service?
Apostille is a Printed Form which certifies the authenticity of the signature, seal or stamp of legal documents so they can be recognized internationally in Foreign Countries that are Parties of “Hague Convention Treaty of 5 October 1961”. On May 14, 2019, Philippines became a Member of The Apostille Convention.
When Philippines became a party of The Apostille Convention, this simplifies the Real Estate Documentation most especially for Foreign Clients.
For Example, with Singapore and Philippines as Members of the Apostille Convention, foreign clients executing legal documents in Singapore such as in Real Estate Documents which will be used in the Philippines don’t need to go through the tedious process of Consularization of Documents in embassy. Verification of Documents can be easily done through scanning the QR Code in the Apostille Certificate and Entry of Details.
